Joanna Weckman

Joanna Weckman is a costume designer, researcher of stage and film costumes, and Doctor of Arts. She has worked as a costume designer in theatre, opera and dance since 1996, and alongside her research has collaborated with Petri Kekoni Company from 2003. Joanna is a guest lecturer at Aalto University and the University of Helsinki. Since 2001, she has published numerous articles on the history of stage costumes, as well as the book Unelmien kuteita (2015) on the history of period costumes. Joanna has also curated several costume exhibitions at, for example, Helsinki’s Theatre Museum.
